About Laura
Hi! My name is Laura and in 2018 I stumbled across a video on Facebook of an artist creating gorgeous works of art with a messy, gooey medium I had never heard of - resin! I had always been creative my whole life; signing up for art classes, buying tons of supplies and telling everyone I knew that I was going to be an artist when I got older. But growing up, I hadn’t felt like I had hit my groove. I ended up going to school for Human Resources, as working with people in my second passion. After getting a full time job in event planning after graduation, I decided I needed a new personal hobby.
Discovering resin came just in time! Since then, I was driven like never before. I would not stop making and making and making. To the point where I had to sit myself down and tell myself that I had to try to sell my work, for the sake of my free space and wallet! I booked a pop up at my local West Elm and the feedback was tremendous. I was on cloud 9!
But a month later, COVID hit and I took my business on Etsy. Again, immediate positive feedback and I couldn’t be more grateful. Once COVID restrictions eased up, I knew that I wanted to connect with my community again and when my friend suggested I check out The Curated Market, I knew it was meant to be. And the rest is history! I am so honoured to be here among so many talented artists.
What drives and inspires my art is passion and I can see that all around me. I also have a huge affinity for anything with colours and sparkles. So even with my more neutral pieces, I’ll find a way to glam it up with some gold flakes or glitter!
